Principal's MessageApril 2012
As most of you know, I have accepted a new position next year, as the Principal of Vintage High School. This was a very difficult decision for me, and the result is bittersweet. I have truly enjoyed the last eight years at Redwood Middle School. I have watched students grow into young adults and have observed the entire school community become a large family, one which supports the belief that each student will achieve high levels of learning and academic success.
As a result, Redwood Middle School has become a model middle school. The commitment our students, parents and teachers have demonstrated over the years has helped to place Redwood at the top tier of middle schools in the Napa Valley Unified School District; this is something of which I am very proud. I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with your son or daughter. Redwood has great students, which is a direct reflection of you, the dedicated parents. I am confident this foundation, along with the traditions that have been established at Redwood, will carry this school to even greater accolades.
I am confident the staff at Redwood Middle School will continue to support the academic goals and social behaviors expected of all Redwood students during the next school year and beyond. Rest assured the Napa Valley Unified School District is committed to finding a leader who will take Redwood even further than we have come during my tenure.
Over the next few weeks, the teachers at Redwood, as well as Redwood parents, will have the opportunity to share with school district personnel, the characteristics and qualities desired from the next principal at Redwood Middle School.
In closing, it has been a privilege and an honor to work with your son or daughter. Although I am sad to leave Redwood, I am excited to lead Vintage High School, where I will know many former Redwood students and many current Redwood students who will attend in the future. I look forward to seeing many of you next year as your son or daughter enters ninth grade and re-connecting with others in the future as your child completes middle school and moves on to high school. Just as Redwood Middle School has become an excellent middle school, I intend to guide Vintage High School to be the best high school in the Napa Valley. Thank you for your past, current and future support.
